What is myoldmate?

This site is dedicated to helping people track down lost friends, relatives and colleagues.

How does it work?

Using the site is a two-step process:

1) Choose the 'Get a password' option and fill in your email address. You will then be sent an email containing a password to access the site.

2) Return to the site and choose the 'Sign in' option. Enter your email address and the password you were sent. You can then access the site and do the following:

· If you are looking for somebody, you can enter their name (for example, but you can also search on town, company etc.) and the system will search for matching records. If you find a match, you can send them an e-mail via the website, and they can choose whether to contact you or not. You will be prevented from trying to contact the same person more than three times.

· You can also enter your details so people can find you. If somebody finds you, you choose whether to be contacted or not. Your email address will not be divulged to anyone, and you can amend or remove your details whenever you wish.

· Optionally, you can add a picture for others to see!

· Use the 'Who's looking for me' option to see if someone is looking for people with your surname.

· Tell other people about the site with our 'Tell a friend' option

· Use the 'Other Info' and 'Links' options to help in your search for others.
